Summer Workshops

Magic City Actors Theatre (MCAT) will offer a series of two workshops for ages 6-18. These classes will be held at the old Berry Middle School on Old Columbia Road. Classes will be from 9AM to 4PM. Check back soon for more information about possible early drop of and late pick up. There will be an additional charge for this service.

Students will have the opportunity to work with some of Birmingham’s top entertainers, directors and choreographers!

Audition Technique
...and much much more

Students will experience the thrill of putting on a show, increase their theatrical knowledge, and getting in touch with the “heart and soul” of performing! Class space is limited so reserve space for your student NOW!

 

 

 

Summer Workshop (Ages 6-18)
July 21 - August 8, 2008

This 3 week workshop will culminate in something extraordinarily special! Attendees will get a chance to be in the East Coast PREMIERE of a brand new musical Scenes in a Teen’s Life by Greg Evans, Author/Artist of the famous “Luann” comic strip. Magic City Actors Theatre is very excited about our new relationship with Mr.Evans and cannot wait to be the first company outside of the San Francisco workshop production to produce this great new show! Scenes in a Teen’s Life will have three performances: Friday and Saturday night, Aug. 15th & 16th, and a Sunday matinee on Aug. 17th. Not only do you get to attend wonderful workshop classes, you get a chance to CREATE these brand new characters – a wonderful opportunity for any performer!


Classes will be separated as listed below. Both age groups WILL participate and be part of the show in August.
