Mission
The mission of Magic City Actors Theatre is to provide
outstanding and consistent quality theatre to the Birmingham
Metropolitan Area, in order to entertain, educate and
enlighten the community. Magic City will showcase the
best of local talent both on stage and behind the scenes.
Magic City Actors Theatre will produce shows certain to
appeal to a wide range of theatregoers. Whether you love
the classics from Broadway's golden age or seek new and
original works Magic City Actors Theatre will offer something
for everyone. Our goal is to set a new standard in local
theatre and showcase the area's best talent in quality
productions.
Magic City Actors Theatre will begin with a four show
season including three musicals and one play. These
shows will be performed at the historic Virginia
Samford Theatre.

June 13, 2006 - Magic City Actors Theatre received
a $10,000 grant from The Robert Meyer Foundation to
fund the Technical Personnel for the inaugural season.
These roles are Lighting Designer, Costume Designer,
Set Designer and Sound Designer.
June 2006 - Magic City Actors Theatre is awarded a
contract from the Cultural
Alliance of Greater Birmingham and the Jefferson
County Community Arts Fund to produce the December production
of Don't You Just Love Christmas, a World Premier
original work.
June 11, 2006 - Magic City Actors Theatre celebrated
its inaugural season with a benefit at Workplay. Nearly
$10,000 is raised for

Magic City Actors Theatre and its supporters for an

March 22, 2006 - Magic City Actors Theatre received
notification from The Community Foundation of Greater
Birmingham that they have been awarded a $15,000 grant
for their first season.
